I am Anneke and I was one of the first to get selected for the SDD track in 2012 after my very short career as a secondary school teacher in civics. Since that year December, I fully dived into the experience of being an SDD´er. From a board member at Young Friends of the Earth Netherlands, to managing a consultancy project for the World Bank on building a climate smart agriculture alliance, to an internship at the climate team at foreign affairs and the United Nations Forum on Forests, and negotiating the international agreement on forests, it has all been an adventure. On the fun, challenging and sometimes crazy road of discovering SDD, I only missed one thing: the teaching. So, now I work at the Clingendael Institute as a training and research fellow to combine my passion for SDD and teaching. A dream job!
I believe there is only one way of surviving in this world and that is to value your spare time as much as your work (if not possible to combine) so I like to dance, practice yoga, swim in the sea, go for long walks in the forests and forget time reading a book. And of course to meet new people. I hope to meet you sometime!
