Anouk is a graduate student in the International Development Studies program, with a specialization in Politics and Governance. In the summer of 2016, she participated in the UCU in Africa program as part of her bachelor program at University College Utrecht, where she gained many practical insights on a wide range of development issues. It was there she realized that in development, sustainability is and will be key for many years to come. As a result, the step for applying for the SDD track was an easy decision. Being enrolled in the SDD track, she aims to gain more knowledge on how sustainability is integral to the wide range of topics she is interested in, such as health, food security, agriculture, WASH and nutrition. In the future, she hopes to use this academic knowledge on sustainability in the area where research and policy-making meet.
In her free time Anouk can be found in the swimming pool, baking cakes, having a drink with friends or trying to catch up with all the interesting books and articles she still has on her reading list.
