Eike is currently doing his master in Environmental Sciences with the specialization in Environmental Policy. During his Bachelor in Tropical Forestry, he has been involved in several forestry projects with long-term stays in Vietnam and Fiji. In the field of natural resource and forest management, Eike is focused on sustainable livelihood approaches and (climate) vulnerability assessments. The notion and conceptualization of sustainable development was for Eike always of high interest. Especially the aspect of finding appropriate transition and operationalization pathways for sustainable development remained present among his activities.
Besides all this, Eike has a strong passion for issues such as climate change adaptation finance, climate justice and disaster risk reduction. His master thesis will therefore focus on climate finance instruments and their justice implications.
In his free time, Eike enjoys travelling and hopes to find the time to do his sailing license, in case he returns to Fiji 😉
