Kyra van den Hil

Hi, My name is Kyra, I have a bachelor in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology and am currently enrolled at the Forest and Nature Conservation Master. Within this master I follow the Sustainable Development Diplomacy Track. My main interest is in the field of resource managing, more specific the interlink-ages between local actors, stakeholders, global institutions, and resource-ecology and landscape restoration on a small-scale. In my opinion natural resources are the foundation of economic opportunities and human well-being. The discourse of SDD offered me a new framework to analyze and frame issues.

In May 2016 I started my internship with the World Resource Institute in Europe. During this internship I mainly focus on the synergy between the SDG’s and the NDC, to improve implementation nationally and globally. After this internship I will move to Rome to conduct a second internship for the FAO Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture.

Joining the SDD community inspired and developed me on multiple levels, due to the dynamic, interdisciplinary and multicultural dimension of the group. Whereby topics were discussed from different angels that often opened my eyes.
